Airports Authority of India (AAI) was constituted by an Act of Parliament and came into being on 1st April, 1995 by merging erstwhile National Airports Authority and International Airports Authority of India. The merger brought into existence a single Organization entrusted with the responsibility of creating, upgrading, maintaining and managing Civil Aviation infrastructure both on the ground and air space in the country.
AAI manages 126 airports, which include 11 international airports, 89 domestic airports and 26 civil enclaves at Defence. AAI also provides Air Traffic Management Services over entire Indian Air Space and adjoining oceanic areas with ground installations at all airports and 25 other locations to ensure safety of aircraft operations.
The Airports Authority of India’s SC&ST Employees Association was formed in 1995 by the merger of IAAI SC&ST employee’s welfare Association and Bhartiya SC&ST Employees welfare Association of Civil Aviation Department. Presently it is headed by Shri K.C. Meena as president and K.L.Kardam & Ramesh Kumar are chief executives as General Secretaries. We are working for the implementation of reservation in service. The main object of association is to make its members aware about rights and privilege to obtain from Govt. and their duty towards society.
